Clout Coaching
Influence-focused coaching for functional leaders
The Skills That Got You the Seat are Not the Ones That Keep it.
You’re leading a critical function with real complexity, real expectations, and less guidance than ever. The work gets done. The results get delivered. But the work that actually decides whether your function stays relevant does not run through your direct reports.
It runs sideways — across dotted lines, competing priorities, and stakeholders who do not report to you. AI and offshoring are already compressing the routine work. What remains is partnering under pressure: securing alignment you cannot mandate, surfacing friction early, and keeping momentum when the organization would rather stay in its lane.
Most leadership coaching still measures and develops the vertical job — how you lead the team that reports to you. That work matters. And it is no longer sufficient. Clout Coaching is built for the horizontal job.
What This Is
Clout Coaching is eight months of private work on live stakeholders, using the same influence operating system we teach teams in CloutX and Clout8.
Clout is influence in service of others — partnering that drives impact. This engagement is partnering-based, not persuasion-based. It is not a performance-review 360 recycled into monthly calls. It is practice on the conversations that stall at the handoff.
Let's Have a ConversationWhat it Includes
- Twenty 60-minute 1:1 sessions over ten months
- A 360 designed around lateral stakeholders — the people you work alongside and across silos
- Pre- and post-program manager alignment sessions
- The eight-part influence operating system (the dots), applied to your actual portfolio of work
How it’s Different Than Average Leadership Coaching
Most leadership or executive coaching sits on a traditional 360 — built to score downward team management. Peers are an afterthought. Functional heads get coached as bosses, but cross-silo influence goes unmeasured, so it goes undeveloped.
Clout180 asks a different question: how effectively does this leader drive strategic impact across organizational boundaries? It measures four practices — Courage, Curiosity, Empathy, Humility — as rated by peers and partners.
Coaching is accountable to that diagnostic. Sessions work what Clout180 flagged, to build one of the most important leadership capabilities for executives.
Let's Have a ConversationThis is For You if
- Your role is critical, visible, accountable — and still treated like a cost center.
- You cannot join a peer cohort, or the work is too specific for a group.
- You have already been through leadership coaching that made you a better manager and left the sideways work untouched.

Lydia had made a massive impact on both my personal life and the development of my skills as an executive and leader. Her coaching and support have helped me break through limitation, understand specific areas where I need to work on myself, and she has challenged me to prioritize growth as a leader. Her insights and wealth of knowledge have helped to enhance my decision making, strategic thinking, and overall vision. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to push their game to the next level.
Josh Mastel, President at Innovien
Lydia is a highly effective executive coach! I had the privilege of working with her in 2022 and early 2023, and found her insights to be invaluable. Her counsel on topics such as leadership, partnering, cross-functional collaboration, and communications was always clear, actionable, and contextual. It was an absolute pleasure to work with her and I look forward to doing so again."
Carey Boethel President, Allied Universal Technology Services
Through Influence Coaching, I enhanced my ability to effectively communicate the value and potential of [new initiative] pilots to key leaders. Initially, we aimed for 4 pilots but have now expanded to 14, identifying $2.36M in synergies. The initial pilots exceeded expectations, and I leveraged those results to build momentum and inspire other leaders to participate. Given the challenging nature of these pilots, it required significant influence to help leaders see the long-term benefits and get excited about making these tough but impactful decisions.
Eric McGarty, Executive Vice President of Operational Business Transformation, Allied Universal
As an executive, I’ve found the challenges we face are rarely straightforward—they’re often layered with competing priorities, complex dynamics, and the weight of long-term decisions. Working with Lydia has consistently helped me center on what matters, clarify my thinking, and dial in communication that is both authentic and effective. She is a trusted sounding board and a coach who has meaningfully challenged and supported my evolution as a leader—both personally and professionally.
